Easier User Management

For a while now we're been wanting to simplify the user management in Moobiz, and now we've finished it!

The Days Of Old

We realised that the users section was overly confusing and not very helpful:

  • Users could have multiple login email addresses (which nobody ever used)
  • The names linked to the users' contact view page (taking you to a dead end!)
  • The icons next to the 'Permissions & Security' and 'Change password' links were inconsistent with the rest of Moobiz

Old skool users' list - not very helpful

Truth be told, the 'Add User' form was even more complicated. With user details, password, contact type (now totally eradicated!) and permissions all in the same page it was a pretty scary form!

The old 'Add User' form -- scary!

The New Way

We've revamped the 'Users' tab:

  • Each users' name links to his/her user details (rather than their contact page)
  • Users can only have one login email address
  • Their last login time (and IP address used) is included (thanks for the suggestion Jeff!)
  • You can also delete users at last (we can't believe we missed this before!)

The new 'Users' tab is much more helpful

The 'Add User' form could now not be simpler; just choose a contact from the drop-down and enter their email address!

Nice and simple 'Add User' form

Once you save the user, a password will be emailed to them, and you can go ahead and assign their permissions, change their password (if you so wish!), set IP address restrictions to limit where they can login from, and check out their login history. This page will also tell you who added the user.

It's a Two Way Road

Finally, we have also added a 'Manage User' link to the 'Contact view' page of anyone who's a user.

We hope you like the improvements & thanks for using Moobiz!
