Simpler App Library

One of the great things about Moobiz is the ability to pick the functionality you want from your business management system. You just enable the apps you want to use which really keeps the experience of using Moobiz clean and simple.
Based on your feedback, we've been spending some time recently looking at how you manage your apps and their settings. The main criticism was that it's too difficult to get started - Moobiz does a lot and we needed to do a better job of presenting that.
Over the last few weeks, we experimented with grouping the apps followed by adding a paragraph of text for each one to explain it better, ending up with something like this (prepare to scroll!):
It's pretty obvious that looks neither simple or easy to use, "scary" would probably be the best description!
The main problems were:
- Checkboxes to enable apps are lost between the big icons and app name
- Links on each app name suggest you should click them but confusingly took you to our web site (sorry to those who gave up at that point!)
- Page was way too long
- The web site apps took over the page even if you weren't using any of them
- Wording at the top of the page didn't clearly explain what to do next
- App descriptions were too long and mostly didn't add anything
- The first app in each group has the same name as its group
So, we started again from scratch, ending up with the shiny new layout below the first time you login to your Moobiz:
Much better already, we just show the main apps with simpler wording and icons consistent with the navigation and web site. The message at the top of the page is a straight to the point "What would you like Moobiz to look after?" and the checkboxes stand out on their own in a vertical line down the page.
Enabling one of the main apps instantly shows you the related apps and any settings. Here we've used smaller icons and shorter descriptions with a lighter font weight. The checkboxes again all line up in a column to easily see what you've got enabled with the settings clearly alongside.
We plan to further tweak the app descriptions of the next few days, but this is now live and ready to use. We hope you like the new App Library and thanks for using Moobiz!
