Simpler settings for Users

We've long wanted to tidy up how you manage permissions for your Moobiz users. If you had a lot of apps enabled, the list of things to tick could easily get pretty long...

We felt a few of the permissions could be simplified. For example there isn't really any need to distinguish between being able to view people and companies in the Contacts app and a lot of the Account Management permissions weren't very clear.
We also had another 3 tabs for changing a password, managing IP address restrictions and viewing login history...

We figured if we could just simplify each of the 4 tabs, they'd work better as a single form where you can see everything at once.
Starting with the permissions, we realised that in all cases you need to be able to view the app information in order to manage it. The wording to describe permissions for each app also varied quite a bit. Making them all the same and listing them next to each other in order of access required makes it much easier to see permissions at a glance.
Adding the change password, IP restrictions and login history was next. Here we carefully only show the minimum options to start with...

...but show further options when needed. For example, clicking into the 'Set new password' field (which starts with a clear help message saying 'Leave empty to keep existing') immediately reveals the confirm and verify fields required to change a password:

While handy when you need it, most of the time you don't need to see the login history for a user. Chances are you only want to see them when managing which IP addresses a user may login from. So we hide it by default, with a link to show them just under the IP restriction options. These are also clearer, if you have no restrictions the large box to manage them isn't displayed but shows as soon as you need it...

We hope you like the update. With this done, a simpler Account Settings section will be following shortly...
