July updates: Behind the scenes

Posted by Wes Hooper on 26th July 2011 in Updates

No major obvious new features this month, though we've been hard at work behind the scenes!

Billing API

Following on from our recent pricing change, we've taken the opportunity to rework our own billing system so it uses our soon to be released API for creating invoices. We like to use our own products the same as you do, so we're just finishing off the testing of this one.

Server upgrades

Just like upgrading Windows or Max OSX on your own computer, our web servers need some attention every now and then too. We've been migrating accounts between servers to allow their operating systems to be upgraded from RHEL 5 to 6 which keeps us up to date and gives us a few nice new features to play with. Not terribly exciting, but one of the benefits of Moobiz is that we take care of all this stuff for you.

Support tickets

We've long used our own to-do system for managing your support tickets. It got us something going quickly at the time but it turns out tickets and to-dos aren't as good a match as we'd hoped. Some things that would help us manage your tickets don't make sense for a to-do. Likewise, we can't make some improvements we have in mind for to-dos because they'd complicate how we use them for tickets. So we'll soon be switching to a new system for support tickets which will be a lot better.

We'll be back to more noticeable improvements next month! ;-)
